This participatory asset map aims to collectivize the understanding of community assets to identify and visualize local resources, strengths and opportunities. Instead of focusing on what residents or the community lacks, participatory asset mapping will highlight existing assets like skills, cultural knowledge, organizations and physical spaces that support collective action and local development and provide support to residents. The data displayed in this map has been collected via surveys distributed at the Arlington Branch of Brooklyn Public Library in East New York.
